International air cargo loading, loading, specifications, and usage

Return list source:Xinjian Logistics Release date: 2022.01.24

International air freight transportation requires different sizes and weights for different aircraft models and carriers. There are clear requirements for international air cargo loading, loading, specifications, and usage. The specific editor will introduce to you:

1. Transportation method

The main modes of air transportation include flight transportation, charter transportation, centralized shipping, and air express delivery services.

2. Types of aircraft carrier plates

There are three main types of aviation vehicles: pallets, containers, and frames.

The aircraft models are different, so the aircraft carriers configured are different. Currently, the main aircraft models engaged in cargo transportation are the Boeing series, Airbus series, and McDonnell Douglas series, such as B747-400F, A300F, MD11F, etc. In the former CIS countries, there were also safety series produced by the former Soviet Union in operation. The container loads between them are interchangeable, but some are not compatible. Even if one series of aircraft has different models, The boards used may not necessarily be universal, for example, some container vehicles on the B767 can only be used on this model.

Container board: It is mainly an aluminum flat plate with mesh buckles around it for fixing the mesh cover, slightly recessed in the middle. After the American special line goods are placed on it, they are wrapped neatly with film and covered with a mesh cover for fixing. Commonly used carrier models include PMC P6P PAJ, and so on.

Container: It is mainly a closed box made of aluminum plates. As a box, it is the best for protecting goods and can also be used for refrigeration and insurance. Generally, fresh products must use containers, and some boxes have special purposes, such as hanging clothes, transporting dangerous goods, and so on. There are various shapes, even some irregular shapes, of American air freight special line containers, mainly to fully utilize the space of the aircraft, as some of the aircraft's compartments are curved. Commonly used models include AKE, AAU, AMP, and so on.

3. Specifications of aviation vehicles

The specifications of air carriers are limited by the aircraft model, and all carriers on all cargo planes can be used, while passenger planes can only use low boards and containers. Due to the size limitations of the carriers, when accepting international air cargo, we can only receive goods within the allowed size range of the carriers. If the size exceeds the limit, we can only use other transportation methods, such as sea freight containers or ro ro ships. Here are several commonly used vehicle specifications:

1. 20 foot plate (PGA): 606X244X300CM Applicable: 747F

2. PMC High Board (Q7/MD2): 318X244X300CM Applicable: 747, 777, 747F, AIRBUS

3. PMC medium board (Q6): 318X244X244CM Applicable: 747, 777, 747F, AIRBUS

4. PMC Low Board (LD): 318X244X163CM Applicable: 747, 777, 747F, AIRBUS

5. FEB narrow board: 223X134X213CM Applicable: 747F

6. PLA narrow board: 318X153X163CM Applicable: 747, 777, 747F, AIRBUS

7. RAP refrigerated container (LD9): 318X244X163 Applicable: 747, 777, 747F, AIRBUS

8. RKN refrigerated container (LD3): top length 201CM, bottom length 156CM, width 154CM, height 163CM Applicable: 747, 777, 747F, AIRBUS

9. AMA container (M1): 318X244X244CM Applicable: 747F

10. AMF container: top length 407CM, bottom length 318CM, width 244, height 163CM Applicable: 747, 777, 747F, AIRBUS

11. AKE container (LD3): top length 201CM, bottom length 156CM, width 154CM, height 163CM Applicable: 747, 777, 747F, AIRBUS

The above data are all theoretical. In the actual loading process, the spacing between mesh buckles and the thickness of the container wall should be deducted from the length and width by about 15cm, and the height should be deducted from the height of 5-10cm of the container board and the bottom and top of the container. At the same time, it is difficult to fully utilize all the space due to the different sizes of the actual loaded goods.
